The large heart and flames are made of wood and hand cut. The heart is a solid piece of thick wood painted red. An image of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo's famous painting 'Las dos Frida's' is placed on the center of the heart. Paper collaged elements of quotes by Frida Kahlo, along with words that describe her life and art surround the image. The wooden heart is outlined with gold-leaf. Using an encaustic process of heating and melting, then applying it to the surface, the entire front side of the heart is covered with wax.
The flames are hand cut with a thinner wood, painted gold, and attached to the heart.
The heart comes with hardware and is ready to hang.
